Active Ingredient in Ferrograd 325mg Iron tablets:

 

• Dried Ferrous Sulphate: 325mg (Equivalent to 105mg of elemental iron)

 

Dosage Instructions:

 

• Adults and Elderly: The recommended dosage is one tablet daily. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and not chewed or crushed, as this could affect the slow-release mechanism.
• Children over 12 years: One tablet daily is usually appropriate. However, always consult a healthcare professional before administering to children.
• Children under 12 years: Ferrograd Filmtabs are not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

 

Side Effects:

 

While Ferrograd Filmtabs are generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects, including:

 

• Constipation or diarrhoea
• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach discomfort or cramps
• Dark-coloured stools (a common, harmless side effect of iron supplements)

Interactions:

 

Ferrograd Filmtabs may interact with certain medications and foods:

 

• Antacids, Calcium, and Zinc Supplements: These can reduce iron absorption. Space doses at least two hours apart.
• Tetracyclines and Quinolone Antibiotics: These can also interfere with iron absorption. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before combining these.
• Food Interactions: Iron absorption can be reduced by foods and drinks like tea, coffee, eggs, dairy, and whole grains. It is advisable to take Ferrograd Filmtabs on an empty stomach, but if you experience stomach discomfort, take it with a small amount of food.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Do not use Ferrograd Filmtabs after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
